Abu Dhabi Golf Resort

This is one of the solutions to reduce the global warming by using the clean energy. It is another type of cool cities in Abu Dhabi. It has 148-room Westin Hotel, Golf & Spa – the first property in Abu Dhabi city.

The style of this building include wellness style, the hotel will feature stunning minimalist interiors forged from natural stone, petrified and reclaimed wood and dotted with cooling water features. The hotel will have many indoor and outdoor features. Some of the outdoor features are a European-style lobby level café, a Mediterranean-inspired all-day dining restaurant, English-style ‘spike’ lounge, a private dining room and a Moroccan-themed specialty restaurant, complete with tranquil pools and landscaping. Also, there are many features inside it such as spacious gymnasium, climbing wall, two squash courts and a tennis academy and a human-inspired spa with nine treatment rooms. Also, It provides many things such as it contains the sport’s foremost luxury brand, which manages almost 200 clubs worldwide.

From what I read about this project, I don’t think there is enough information or description for the facilities that benefit the environment. Many things can be added to the project which help to reduce global warming and at the same time give us high standers of living. They can use eco-friendly transportation, or use low emitting materials for constructions.

In conclusion, I think that Abu Dhabi Golf resort is a poor example of a sustainable environmental project, which will not benefit the environment that much and it will not reduce the global warming. In my opinion, this project deserve a “ D” .

Cool cities

Cool cities are a new program to reduce the global warming and protect our environment by using smart energy solutions to save money and build a cleaner and safer future. It is a closed city which used clean energy to reduce the carbon emission. Here I’m going to mention about how cool cities can be a great solution to survive our planet.

We can divide these cities in two types, the residential and the urban. A great thing is that these cities contain many zones and some of them can be public centers like schools, stadiums and restaurants. The other is residential zones such as hotels and villas. The last zone is the business zones.

There are many things in cool cities that will help to reduce the carbon emission. First of all, using eco-friendly transport such as the vehicles which work with electricity. Also, sharing the vehicles to reduce the number of it on the road, especially during typical rush hours. Another solution is that using operable roofs which consist of materials that effectively reflect the sun's energy from the roof surface. However, this roofs will open and closed depends on the weather. For example it will open in winter to use the natural air from the cool weather, but it will close up in the summer because of the sunlight which streams in the cities. Finally, the lights which are using in every where will be changing because they want to fluorescent bulbs to save the energy which will help to reduce the global warming.

To sum up, using this new technology way is a start to reduce the global warming, but I think it will be more great if we use it in a huge city because this kind of solution have a strong effect and that is a good point to increase the success on this project.

My opinion about "An Inconvenient Truth"

Here is my opinion about “An Inconvenient Truth” movie. In the following I will write about what I like on this film and how it changes our behavior.

I think this film has tow aspect political and scientific. But most people say that it is political more than scientific because they don’t want to admit that the global warming is mainly human caused. But I believe that this film is scientific because for many reasons. First, many of Al Gore’s facts were getting from real experiments and scientific facts. Another reason why I think “An Inconvenient Truth” movie is scientific is that the global warming affects our environment and the atmosphere which classified as scientific problem because it affects the whole world.

To sum up, this film consider an important documentary to aware people about the global warming because before showing this movie many people didn’t know about the serious effects of global warming.

Summary about the movie " An Inconvenient Truth"

Al Gore who was a vice president of USA crates a film which called “An Inconvenient Truth”. This film is discussing the whole affects of global warming and some solution for this problem, also he tries to make people aware about the dangerous of the global warming. Here I’m going to talk about the film and how he explained it.

He started his film by showing us many different scenes from the environment. The scenes in the film was natural and very beautiful, he wants us to be regret when we will see the rest of the film because of the changing that happen in the world. He wants the human around the world to control the emission of green houses because it mays reduce global warming in the future. Also, Al Gore shows us an examination of ice core samples in Antarctic to know the amount of the CO2 and the temperature. Melting the ice sheet in the Greenland will cause many things such as the sea level will raise by approximately 20 feet and will make many people homeless and increase the flooding in coastal area. Another affect of melting ice is that 40% of people who get their water from Himalaya will suffer from shortage of water.

In conclusion, global warming is a serious problem which cause changing in the weather patterns and this will lead to raise the sea level and a lot of coastal cities will disappear. Using renewable sources to reduce the global warming is one solution. Finally, we all must reduce the global warming and protect our planet.

Introduction to the Global Warming

Global Warming is one of the most important problems nowadays. The atmosphere layer protects the earth and balances the air, temperature and water to maintain life. However, Carbon dioxide and other gases are damaging the earth by trapping solar heat in the atmosphere causing the global warming. In other words the global warming means the abnormal increase of the earth’s temperature caused by the thickening of the atmosphere layer.

There are many reasons for this problem. The most important one is the fossil fuels such as coal, gas and oil. Burning the fossil fuels to use it in our daily life, for example to start our cars and to get electricity for our houses, emits a huge amount of carbon dioxide and other gases that harm the atmosphere. Another cause is the clearing of forests. By doing this we have dramatically increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere and temperatures are rising. One last cause is that the building up of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere such as carbon dioxide and methane, which increases the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

We must try to control this problem, because it affects our planet and our lives. If the temperature will continue rising like this, many things will happen such as: the deaths from global warming will double in just 25 years to 300,000 people a year, heat waves will be more frequent and more intense and the heat waves will be more frequent and more intense. So we must aware the whole world about this dangerous to decrease the temperature.
